Welcome to Nepal! Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you'll be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day relaxing or exploring the bustling streets of Thamel. Enjoy a traditional Nepali welcome dinner in the evening.
Today is dedicated to exploring the Kathmandu Valley’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) for panoramic valley views, the sacred Pashupatinath Temple, and the colossal Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest in the world. Later, discover Kathmandu Durbar Square with its ancient palaces, courtyards, and temples that echo the city’s rich medieval history.
After breakfast, drive 13 km (45 min) to Bhaktapur, a beautifully preserved medieval town. Explore the 55-Window Palace, Nyatapola Temple, and the Pottery Square. In the afternoon, drive 20 km (1.5 hours) uphill to Nagarkot, a hilltop village famous for its sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayas, including Everest on a clear day. Enjoy a relaxed evening in the serene hills.
After catching the sunrise, begin your scenic 230 km (7–8 hour) drive to Pokhara, passing terraced hills, rivers, and rural life. Arrive in the peaceful lakeside city by evening. Enjoy a walk along Phewa Lake, with stunning reflections of the Annapurna range and the peaceful Tal Barahi Temple at the center of the lake.
Explore the best of Pokhara. Visit the World Peace Pagoda, offering spectacular mountain views, the mystical Gupteshwor Cave, Devi’s Fall, and the serene Bindabasini Temple. Don’t miss the International Mountain Museumto understand Himalayan climbing history. Optional activities include boating or paragliding over the lake.
Drive approx. 60 km (4 hours) to the picturesque village of Ghandruk, a traditional Gurung settlement nestled at 1,940m. Explore the Gurung Museum, walk around stone-paved paths, and enjoy close-up views of Machapuchare (Fishtail)and Annapurna South. The calm ambiance and mountain hospitality are unforgettable.
Begin your journey towards the trans-Himalayan zone. Drive 125 km (7–8 hours) through scenic landscapes, crossing the Kali Gandaki Gorge, the world’s deepest. Reach Jomsom (2,720m), a windswept town nestled between towering peaks. Witness the transition from lush hills to arid valleys with a dramatic Himalayan backdrop.
Early morning, drive 20 km (1.5 hours) to Muktinath Temple, a revered site for both Hindus and Buddhists. After spiritual blessings and views of Dhaulagiri, descend towards Tatopani (85 km, 5–6 hours), famous for its natural hot springs. Relax your muscles in the therapeutic waters after the adventurous ride.
Head to Bandipur, a quaint hilltop town untouched by time. The 150 km (6–7 hour) drive winds through valleys and hills. Upon arrival, enjoy a leisurely walk in the traffic-free town filled with Newari architecture. Catch sunset views of the Himalayas from Tundikhel, the village's open hilltop meadow.
After breakfast, descend and drive 90 km (3.5–4 hours) to Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s premier wildlife sanctuary. Check in to your jungle lodge and enjoy a Tharu cultural show in the evening. The jungle ambiance and riverfront sunset are a perfect prelude to your next day of wildlife exploration.
Experience the rich biodiversity of Chitwan. Take a jeep safari or canoe ride to spot rhinos, deer, gharials, monkeys, and, if lucky, the elusive Bengal tiger. Visit the Elephant Breeding Center and join a guided jungle walk. Enjoy local cuisine and traditional dances in the evening.
Drive 160 km (4–5 hours) through flat plains and fertile fields to reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. After check-in, relax and enjoy the peaceful garden ambiance or explore the local town. Optional sunset walk near the sacred Maya Devi Temple.
Spend the day exploring Lumbini Sacred Garden, starting with Maya Devi Temple, Ashokan Pillar, and the Sacred Pond. Visit the various international monasteries built by countries like Thailand, Germany, and China, each reflecting unique cultural architecture and devotion. Lumbini offers a meditative and deeply spiritual experience.
Today’s long drive of approx. 280 km (8–9 hours) takes you back to Kathmandu via the highway. Witness changing scenery as you leave the Terai plains and ascend toward the hills. Upon arrival, enjoy a farewell dinner or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel one last time.
After breakfast, it’s time to bid goodbye to the Himalayas. Depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your departure. Carry with you unforgettable memories of mountains, culture, and the warmth of Nepali hospitality.
